I’ve always been inspired by the sight of a beautiful sunrise. As light bleeds across the horizon in brilliant hues, it announces to the world and to the deepest parts of the soul that a new day has begun. It is only because of the sunrise that every part of our life is illuminated day after day. When sunrise comes, it speaks of new beginnings.
That’s why I’ve chosen to give this site the name Sunrise: this blog is about living in the life-giving light of who God really is. One of my all-time favorite quotations is from C.S. Lewis, who said, “I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.” I believe that one of the most beautiful things about Christianity is that it alone can make sense of the chaotic world we live in. Only by the light of God’s truth can we see the world as it truly is. The purpose of Sunrise is simple- to encourage and build up the Church, and to provide insightful, inspiring, or motivational messages to help fellow believers get through their day living for Christ. Viewing our own lives and the world around us through the lens of the Gospel is the only way to truly live the way God designed us to. I pray that this site will be a place you can always count on to provide encouragement whenever you need it.
